My first version of this weeks rant came off very depressing. I think I’ll try again. So I hope you all enjoyed the first strip and enjoy this week’s strip as much, if not more. I’m sure you will. The weeks continue to move in complete monotony, but between GBA, my little DVD player, my CDs, and of course… The Fan, I think I can manage. Now unfortunately I can’t be the bearer of cool news that I would like to be, being the furthest away from anything news worthy to me. I can say stuff like SNK vs Capcom: Chaos is coming out, and it is looking rather delicious but fuckin’a, I’m sure you alllll already know that… well, those of you who care. Umm, there’s new movies coming out… this summer… that probably look cool. I can tell you that I’ve seen bootleg copies of Matrix Reloaded, and T3, and part of X2. Why would you care? I don’t know. I don’t think I even care. 311 came out with a new album that I know little to nothing about which is just as weird as me not seeing the Pirates of the Caribbean movie on opening day (I know it sounds like a cheesy idea, but if you knew me you’d understand). The craziness continues here with Dehn talking about Japan over and over again trying to make me jealous. It won’t work, but I’ll make him pay anyways, because unlike me, he knows what he’s missing. HA! And he can put that in his pipe and smoke it… without a filter. I’m quite content just going to LA as soon as I get home… and to Vegas… and a show… and Japan and getting my own freakin’ apartment. Woo… how’s that for a rant. Peace Out.

  Love – Hate Relationships

If you are a company with an online presence and you don’t ship to APO or FPO, face it: You suck. You could probably say that you might be hated. Not hated for your lack of shippage; I hate you for your idiocy. You’re losing out on plenty of soldierly dollars. (REI, J-List, NetGrocer … we love you.)

On the other hand, we have Amazon. Don’t get me wrong. They ship to APO addresses, but I can’t say that I love them. You see, Amazon took my money. They came in through the kitchen window (it had to be the kitchen, since the bedroom window is covered by a 1/2-inch thick steel plate) and took four hundred thirty-two dollars, and whatever change was on the bedside table. At least the tooth fairy (the moonlighting little bitch) will be delivering a CD that should bring my mood “up”, as it were. (Sorry if that last link doesn’t work. Writing this without an internet connection means I have to guess at most of these.)

No, the CD didn’t run four hundred plus. There’s also a stack of DVDs that’ll be delivered by African/ European Swallows. The stack should contain roughly 20 movies; two or three Shakespeare (Othello and Henry V), Hi Fidelity, Heathers, The Lost Boys, and most of the rest are Japanese movies. (I’d love to share what else I purchased, but I can’t remember. Seriously. That’s a good thing, though. When they get here it’s more like Yuletide.) I have to have something to torment Kensoux with. Talk of home (for torment’s sake) wouldn’t be right; it would suck for both of us. Regaling him with tales of the land so far East that it’s off the West coast… now that’s some torture I can get into.

I have to say, though… I think he enjoys the torture more than not. I try to sit down and watch NHK news on the satellite dish once a day, and he joins me for that. Yeah, I watch it for practice (sukawanai to ikahen). At the same time, it triggers a wealth of pleasant memories. Most everyone knows I loved it over there (as opposed to here). The friends, the studies, the food, the sights, the drinking… it was great. I can’t wait to go back. A heart with two homes – the way to be?

I think I remembered a few. Maybe. (Watch me jack up most of the titles, now.)

Madadayo (Kurosawa Akira)
Weather Woman (If I understand this right, this one involves sex and humor. Win-win!)
Deadly Beauty (?) (One of a Japanese sub-genre: Beautiful woman assassin movies.)

Okay. Only three. Next week, maybe. Instead, I’ll leave you with the quote of the day:

“The only thing keeping me from killing you is this damned social contract.”

  Kensou Desu! Again...

You’ll have to excuse my colleague. He seems to think that the good people at Amazon are to blame for what I have labeled as a psychological disorder, online-orderidus. I suffer from a similar disorder, but only when I’m home. I believe it’s related to window- shoppenidus except that mine involves CDs, games and action figures. For some reason it’s online cousin doesn’t infect me, which is good because I enjoy not spending a shit-load of money on stuff for once. It helps save money for the apartment that I will have, and oh yes… I will have it. With pizza. Blast this sand incrusted litter box! But I guess what I’m really trying to say is that Dehn is an online whore with unlimited credit and a knack for pissing me off where it counts. Damn him.

Okay, now this is not something that I want to keep doing, since the rant is really something should keep going forward with the strip... but since I'm sitting here migrating our meager post archive over... one line at a time. Tedious, but part of the job.

Anyway, I just noticed that my friend here pointed out the fact that I suffer from a disorder known as "online-orderidus." I'd like to point out that "online-orderidus" is contagious, since in the last months I've noticed NetGrocer and Electronics Boutique Online boxes coming in at a pretty regular pace for a certain Kensou X. Amazon boxes, too.

And, yes... I can still piss him off where it counts.
